Dining Plans

Students living in WVU Tech-operated residence halls are required to purchase a Residential Dining Plan. Students who reside off campus or commute from home may purchase a dining plan at their discretion. Many students choose to purchase a dining plan due to the convenience, variety, affordability and quality of our dining venues on campus.

No, unused meals do not carry over to the following semester. Plan costs are based on food costs, wages and other expenses incurred during the current semester.

No. Dining plans represent a contract between the student (the plan holder) and WVU Hospitality Group. We base our costs on this purchase agreement. Allowing others to use your meal card jeopardizes our ability to keep your dining costs as low as possible.

Yes. Students who live off campus or commute from home can purchase a dining plan for a specific set of meals per semester. It is possible to exhaust these plans prior to the end of the semester.

For Residential Dining Plans, a new week begins each Saturday morning and ends the following Friday night. Meals do not carry over from week to week with the WVU Tech plans.

Dining Dollars roll over to the spring semester with the purchase of a spring dining plan, but expire at the end of the academic year.

When WVU Tech students purchase a Golden Bears Select plan, they will receive $75 in Dining Dollars. Dining Dollars can be used to…

• Purchase meals, drinks or snacks at the Tech Spot.
• Purchase a meal at a residential dining hall. If you use up your meal swipes for the week before they’re refilled Saturday morning, you can purchase a meal with Dining Dollars.
• Purchase a meal for a friend, family member or guest, as long as the cardholder is present to swipe his or her Mountaineer Card. You cannot use one of your meal swipes for someone else to eat at a residential dining hall, but you can treat them using your Dining Dollars.

If you don’t use all of your Dining Dollars during the fall semester, they will roll over for use during the spring semester (as long as the student is still enrolled). The Dining Dollars will expire at the end of the spring semester. Please Contact Us to refill your Dining Dollars.

The director of WVU Hospitality Group in collaboration with the Executive Chef and the Dietitian from the WVU Morgantown Campus review all of our products and recipes to insure that we provide you with a wide variety of quality, appealing food choices.
